Maidu Summit Consortium
The Maidu Summit Consortium (MSC) received five properties in their ancestral territory at Tàsmam Koyòm (Humbug Valley) and around Lake Almanor totaling 2,935 acres. MSC is comprised of nine Mountain Maidu groups including recognized and petitioning tribes, non-profit organizations, and grassroots groups. Prior to receiving the properties, MSC acted as stewards of culturally important sites – cemeteries and traditional gathering and resource processing areas in the area and has been active in applying Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) practices to land stewardship.
