The Watershed Lands that include the Bear River, Lake Spaulding, and Fordyce Lake planning units contain over 17,000 acres of land with important connectivity to surrounding public lands that help fill in the checkerboard, provide recreation opportunities to an easily accessible stretch of the Sierra Nevada for millions of people, and protect land against development pressures in the area.
